What is the online timer

The online timer is an online countdown timer that runs right in the browser: a countdown with a sound alarm, kept by the system clock. You choose the duration in minutes and seconds, press Start and the app does the rest — it plays, vibrates and can keep counting the extra minutes after zero. Since everything happens in the browser, just type "online timer" into Google or open your saved shortcut to begin; there is no download, sign-up or installation.

Unlike an ordinary clock, it works as an online timer clock for your daily life: the egg in the kitchen, rest between sets, a test race, a 15 minute meeting or the alarm for a study break. Precision comes from the system clock, so no delays or screen flicker — the time stays correct even when you switch tabs or lock your phone.

Countdown for every duration

The default mode is the online countdown timer: the clock starts at the value you chose and counts to zero. To go faster, use the ready shortcuts —5 minutes,10 minutes,15 minutes,25 minutes,30 minutes and60 minutes — or adjust the dial to any time, from 1 second to hours. For short bursts, like the40 seconds of interval training, the HIIT timer is already set up.

Pomodoro, stopwatch and intervals in the same place

This is a complete online pomodoro timer: the pomodoro method organizes focus and breaks into cycles and this app advances automatically between focus, short break and long break. It also works as an online timer stopwatch: just switch the tab to the stopwatch and measure the time of any activity, with lap marking. And for workouts, the intervals alternate effort and rest on their own, with tabata and HIIT presets.

A beautiful, simple online timer

We set out to make this beautiful online timer with an aesthetic look: big numbers, an elegant font, automatic dark mode and no visual noise — just the clock and what matters. Infocus mode (fullscreen), the dial gets even bigger, ideal for studying, meditating or following a show without distraction. While other options fight for attention, here you look at the time and that is it.

Multi online timer: several timers at once

Need to keep an eye on the rice, the oven and the tea at the same time? The "New timer"feature turns this page into a multi online timer: each timer has its own tab, settings and sound, and all of them run in parallel. It is perfect for kitchens, classrooms and any routine with more than one countdown going at once.

Features that make a difference

  • Accurate across tabs: the timer uses the system clock — you do not lose seconds switching tabs or locking the screen.
  • Focus mode: fullscreen with a big clock so you do not get distracted.
  • Sounds and vibration: alarm in 5 styles, with adjustable volume and phone vibration.
  • Share your timer: send a pre-configured link or a QR code to open on your phone.
  • Pomodoro: focus and break cycles that advance on their own.
  • Stopwatch: count the time that passes and mark laps.
  • Intervals and training: HIIT, tabata and 40×20 ready to go.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Space starts/pauses, R resets, F fullscreen, M mutes.
  • Automatic dark mode: follows your system theme.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is an online timer?

An online timer is a countdown that runs right in your browser, with nothing to download or install. Online Timer also works offline: you open the page once and it stays useful even without an internet connection.

How do I use the online timer?

Pick the minutes and seconds on the dial, press Start and wait for the alarm to ring. To switch tools — stopwatch, pomodoro, intervals, meditation or sequences — just tap the tab at the top of the dial, without reloading the page.

How do I run a 10, 5 or 15 minute countdown?

There are ready-made one-click versions: a 10 minute online timer, a 5 minute one and a 15 minute one, plus durations from 1 to 60 minutes. Adjust the time on the dial or use the duration shortcuts to start faster.

Can I use the online timer for pomodoro?

Yes. The pomodoro mode comes pre-configured with the classic method: 25 minutes of focus, a 5 minute short break and a 15 minute long break (every 4 cycles). The app plays a sound at each phase change and advances the cycles on its own.

Can I run several timers at the same time?

Yes. Tap "New timer" to add as many as you need — each with its own settings, time and sound, switching through the tabs at the top. That is what we call a multi online timer.

Does the timer keep counting if I switch tabs or lock the screen?

Yes. The timer and the stopwatch rely on your system clock, not on animated frames: even in the background or with your phone locked, the time is calculated correctly when you come back.

Is the online timer free? Does it need a sign-up?

It is 100% free and requires no sign-up. Every feature — countdown, stopwatch, pomodoro, intervals, meditation and sequences — is unlocked with no usage limits.

Does the online timer work on mobile?

It works in any browser, on your phone and on your computer. It is installable (PWA): you can add it to your home screen and open it like an app, always without installing anything from a store.
